Sonoma County Transit’s First Electric Bus Has Arrived!

September 20, 2018

Sonoma County Transit recently took delivery of its first electric bus.  The new BYD 30′ all-electric coach is being readied for service and is anticipated to be placed into daily operation in October.  Driver and maintenance staff training is underway.

Sonoma County Transit’s move to a clean-fuel, low-emission fleet began in 1996 with its first purchase of natural gas powered buses. Since 2006, all heavy-duty coaches have been powered by natural gas.

The new bus will be deployed on Sebastopol local route 24.
