Cotati is located in central Sonoma County along Highway 101. Adjacent to the city of Rohnert Park, Cotati has a population of 7,533.
Local Service
Sonoma County Transit provides local service in Cotati & Rohnert Park via Route 10, Route 12, and Route 14. The span of service on weekdays is between 6:30am and 6:04pm and on Saturday between 9:00am and 4:43pm. The three routes provide access to the Raley’s Towne Centre, Safeway, Wal-Mart, Target, Oliver’s Market, downtown Cotati, Sonoma State University and many Rohnert Park and Cotati neighborhoods. During the school year, schedules are coordinated with school bell times for middle and high school student commutes.
Through December 31, 2024, Routes 10, 12 & 14 and local Paratransit are included in Sonoma County Transit’s “Fare-Free” program.
Intercity Service
In addition to local service, Sonoma County Transit’s Route 48 provides intercity service to Petaluma to the south and Santa Rosa to the north. Route 48 operates daily on weekday and weekend schedules. Transfers to Santa Rosa CityBus can be made at the Second Street Transit Mall in downtown Santa Rosa. Transfers to Petaluma Transit can be made at the Copeland Street Transit Mall in downtown Petaluma.
Fares on route 48 are zone-based and vary between $1.50 & $3.00 for adults and $0.75 to $1.50 for seniors. Through June 2025, all Youth ride free.
ADA Paratransit Service
Sonoma County Paratransit provides paratransit services, in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, during the same hours and days as Sonoma County Transit’s fixed-route service. Local and intercity paratransit services are provided in Cotati.
