Route 51 – Temporary Evening Service – Ending June 30

Sonoma County Logo

Route 51 was introduced as a temporary evening service, funded by the Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC), to assist passengers affected by recent Golden Gate Transit Route 101 service changes, including the discontinuation of Route 101 service to Sonoma County. The route was intended to provide a transitional travel option while riders adjusted to the new service network and establish alternative transportation arrangements.

Route 51 has operated seven days a week since April 12, providing an evening trip from the Petaluma Transit Mall to the Novato Transit Hub, followed by northbound service from the Novato Transit Hub to the Petaluma Transit Mall, Rohnert Park Expressway & Commerce Boulevard, and the Santa Rosa Transit Mall. As originally planned, the temporary service will conclude on June 30.
