Santa Rosa
The city of Santa Rosa, with a population of 61,917, is located in southern Sonoma County approximately 17 miles north of the city of Petaluma.
Local Service
Sonoma County Transit provides local service in Santa Rosa via Route 42. The route connects downtown Santa Rosa to the Industry West Business Park.
Intercity Service
Sonoma County Transit’s Route 20, Route 30, Route 34, Route 44, Route 48, Route 60, and Route 62 provide service to various Sonoma County cities and connect at the Santa Rosa Transit Mall.
Fares are zone-based and vary between $1.50 & $3.00 for adults and $0.75 to $1.50 for seniors. Through June 2025, all Youth ride free.
ADA Paratransit Service
Sonoma County Paratransit provides paratransit services, in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, during the same hours and days as Sonoma County Transit’s fixed-route service.

Fare Options
In addition to cash fares, Sonoma County Transit provides several transit pass options, including the regional “Clipper” card. The Clipper card is the primary fare media on SMART.
